ANNOUNCEMENTS 05/14/08

Today is Wednesday, May 14th, 2008.

Today’s words of the day are luminous—(adj)—brightly shining and lurid—(adj)—ghastly, sensational . The new light bulbs in the gymnasium are quite luminous. The lurid details of the accident are too much to share.  Add the word of the day to your vocabulary and continue to improve yourself.

Congratulations to the Varsity Softball team for their 3-2 victory of Kempsville yesterday.  Katie Hupp was the winning pitcher giving up only 2 hits and striking out 6 batters while improving her record to 5-4.  Chelsea Lord and Tiffani Russinyak were both 2-3 at bat.  The Lady Marlins came alive in the 6th inning with Katie Hupp drawing a walk followed by Lydia Walther Rodriguez being hit by a pitch, Russinyak then hit a double scoring Hupp. Kristina Seymore hit into a fielders choice scoring Lydia Walther Rodriguez and Tiffani Russinyak scored on a wild throw home. Great job ladies- good luck today at Kellam in your last regular season game.
